We had just enough shade from this big tree, treats for the dogs, and toddler entertainment tricks from me for a lovely afternoon session.

Hello! I am a portrait photographer based in sunny Tucson, Arizona. This is the place I'll share news about my business and my most recent photography. It will be updated frequently, so check back often and leave a comment to say hi!

We had just enough shade from this big tree, treats for the dogs, and toddler entertainment tricks from me for a lovely afternoon session.

…I’m also catching up the blog with this great family that I have really enjoyed getting to know. They were expecting their third, and he has since arrived! I’ll share his newborn session soon too.
I’m feeling inspired to play a quick game of blog catch-up. Beginning with this beautiful baby girl…

I have a lot to blog about from the past several weeks, but I think kids are a lovely way to start. In addition to being beautiful, they are absolutely hilarious. For a large part of our session, they spoke to one another in their own little language. The more I laughed, the more they talked…it was perfect!

I’m in denial that the holidays have arrived. As far as I’m concerned it’s still Halloween. That means it’s still perfectly acceptable to blog about about awesome costumes, and this just might be the greatest Halloween costume idea for a baby. Ever.

- I have written and erased more comments than I care to admit- nothing seems adequate (including this of course but hey I guess I have resigned to my mediocre ability to articulate my appreciation). If I were to gush infinitely, it still would not be enough. Lyra, your work is breathtaking. You capture the beauty of life. Thank you.December 4, 2009 - 9:16 pm
- Oh my goodness Lyra! He is so handsome! Great job!December 3, 2009 - 8:59 am
As a general rule, I avoid telling kids to smile during a shoot, but occasionally I say do not smile because that almost always goes something like this:
